About Me
Carolyn Costello, BSc(Hons), Diploma Integrative Counselling
A professional counselling therapist working online and in-person in Scotland.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists

When life is troubling or messy, you deserve a place to share and explore your feelings and reactions.
I’m Here to Help.
I work by building a warm, confidential, trusting relationship where you can talk and truly be heard without judgement.
I’m passionate about helping you to discover your best self, recover from pain and connect with increasing fulfilment and satisfaction in your life.
My Background
I offer you a professional counselling service. With many years of supporting individuals, couples and groups through difficult circumstances, I am also qualified through a validated counselling course. I continue to train and research to offer best practice to all my clients.
Outside of counselling, I have experience including working within corporate project management, special needs education and unpaid-carers support. Also I have volunteered with charities and raised a family. This variety of life experiences helps me to relate to you as you share your story.
My Approach & Philosophy
I have a range of counselling techniques and tools that will be tailored to support you. My goal is to empower you to develop the self-awareness, skills and confidence needed to move towards your therapy goals. The intention is to equip you with approaches you can take forward for life.
Using simple illustrations I can help you to understand how the brain and body are designed to work together to respond, recover and relate to circumstance. When appropriate I can teach you ways to calm your anxiety, address guilt or shame. Together we can sit with difficult emotions and find a way through.
I counsel people of any faith or none and offer to explore life’s issues from a Christian perspective with those who request it. If you struggle with beliefs, doubts or overwhelming life circumstances I am experienced at coming alongside and bringing support.
Alongside my private practice I facilitate Days of Hope: reflection and self-awareness retreats and I volunteer as a counsellor at Quiet Waters, Falkirk.
